SITUATION

Le territoire de la commune de Castell – Platja d’Aro i S’Agaró est situé dans la région géographique de la Costa Brava, au pied de la Mer méditerranée et appartient à la zone du Baix Empordà, province de Gérone, Catalogne. Formé des bourgs de Castell d'Aro à l'intérieur et de Platja d’Aro et de S’Agaró sur le littoral, elle s'étend à extrême est de la Vallée d'Aro, une plaine étroite baignée par la rivi Ridaura et située entre les montagnes méridionales du massif des Gavarres et de la Sierra de Cadiretes. La commune possède une superficie de 21,9 Km2 et fait frontière au nord avec la commune de Calonge, à l'est avec Santa Cristina d'Aro, au sud avec Sant Feliu de Guíxols et à l'ouest avec le littoral. Actuellement, on recense plus de 10.000 habitants, en contant les résidents inscrits. Les bureaux généraux de la Mairie, ainsi que ceux de la Police locale et de l'Office du Tourisme se trouvent dans le centre de Platja d’Aro.

Situation

SITUATION
The municipality of Castell – Platja d’Aro i S’Agaró, is located in the geographic area of the Costa Brava in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, and belongs to the region of Baix Empordà, province of Girona, Catalonia. comprised of the towns of Castell d’Aro inland, and Platja d’Aro i S’Agaró on the coast, it spreads across the eastern end of the Aro Valley, a narrow plain drained by the Ridaura river between the southern mountains of the Gavarres and Serra de Cadiretes ranges.
The municipality has an extension of 21,9 Km2, and borders to the north with Calonge, the west with Santa Cristina d’Aro, to the south with Sant Feliu de Guíxols and the coast on the east. The current census gives a figure of more than 10,000 inhabitants as permanent residents. The Town Hall offices, as well as the Headquarters of the Local Police Force and the Tourist Office are in the centre of Platja d’Aro.

UBICACIÓN

El término municipal de Castell – Platja d’Aro y S’Agaró está situado en la zona geográfica de la Costa Brava, en el corazón del Mar mediterráneo, y pertenece a la comarca del Baix Empordà, provincia de Girona, Cataluña. Formado por las ciudades de Castell d’Aro, en el interior, y Platja d’Aro y S’Agaró, en el litoral, se extiende por el extremo oriental de la Vall d’Aro, una estrecha llanura drenada por el río Ridaura y situada entre las montañas meridionales del macizo de las Gavarres y la Sierra de Cadiretes.

El municipio tiene una extensión de 21’9 Km2 y limita al norte con el término de Calonge, a poniente con el de Santa Cristina de Aro, al sur con Sant Feliu de Guíxols y a levante, con el litoral. Actualmente, el censo municipal recoge la cifra de más de 10.000 habitantes como residentes empadronados. Las oficinas generales del Ayuntamiento, así como la sede de la Policía Local y de la Oficina de Turismo se hallan en el núcleo de Platja d’Aro.
